About

Welcome

Hi, welcome to Day Guitar Works. Let me take a minute to introduce myself. I am a certified Luthier with over 10 years of experience. I have attended both the Vermont Instruments School of Lutherie and the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery. I hold Silver level repair certifications for both Fender and Taylor guitars. My specialities are fretwork and guitar setups. I take great pride in making an instrument feel and play its very best.

My Story

My journey into the world of Luthiery officially began in 2011 when I attended the Vermont Instruments School of Lutherie where I completed the Introductory Acoustic Guitar Building Course. In continuing my education in the field of Lutherie, I attended next the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, AZ.

Upon completion of the program at RV, I took a position as an A level repair technician at the GC garage in Orlando, FL and soon after transitioned to Tennessee where I headed up the GC repair department in Chattanooga.

In 2014 I concluded my time at GC and moved back to FL and began work at Lyrical Lumber and Starr Guitars. Lyrical Lumber was an immersive deep dive into the world of guitar repair. At Starr Guitars I helped expand the repair department operations and was tasked with handling sensitive jobs from the Hard Rock Memorabilia Collection, which included guitars owned by Steve Vai, Elliot Easton, Paul Kossof and others. Due to the business arrangement between Starr Guitars and Historic Makeovers, I additionally handled the fretwork and setups for all of the Historic Makeovers from 2014-2015.

I transitioned to Historic Makeovers full time in early 2015. In 2018 I took on the additional role as the painter and held this position until late 2019. During this time I had the incredible opportunity to work on a number vintage Les Pauls and many other rare vintage instruments.

In 2020 Day Guitar Parts was launched specializing in aged and NOS parts with a focus on parts for Gibson model guitars. Check out our store page or head over to Reverb or eBay to learn more.
